Support Our Hero: A GoFundMe Campaign for a US Veteran

Every day, countless veterans return home after serving our country, facing challenges that many of us can scarcely imagine. These brave individuals have put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms, and now it's our turn to give back. We are launching a GoFundMe campaign to support one of these courageous heroes—a US Veteran who needs our help to overcome obstacles on the home front.

Meet Our Veteran

Our veteran, George Foushi, served six years in the National Guard during Operation Desert Storm. During his service, George obtained mechanical skills that not only served his country but still serve our community to this day. He is a manager with a prominent apartment company that enables him to use his skills to maintain the property sites. He actively attends Eastside Assembly of God, where he has found amazing support and love. However, like many veterans, George has faced several challenges since returning to civilian life that has caused him significant setbacks, resulting in battling alcoholism. As each day went by, he found himself diving deeper and deeper into depression and not knowing how to dig himself out! He finally reached out to his brother's and asked for help.

Challenges

- Healthcare Needs: George suffers from PTSD that spiraled him into alcoholism and turned his life upside down, which requires ongoing medical treatment and therapy.

- Financial Hardship: Dealing with PTSD has become very financially challenging. George is currently in rehabilitation and struggling to make ends meet. George will be without an income for two months by the time he finishes his treatments.

- Housing Insecurity: Due to mounting medical bills and limited income, George is at risk of losing his home.

Our Goal

Our GoFundMe campaign aims to raise $18,000 to provide George with the support needed to regain stability and improve his quality of life. Specifically, the funds will be used for:

- Medical Expenses: Covering the cost of essential healthcare services and treatments.

- Housing Support: Assisting with rent payments to prevent homelessness.

- Day-to-Day Expenses: Enabling George to put gas in his truck to get back and forth to his therapy sessions, get to work once he has been approved to return, pay his monthly bills, and keep food on his table.
