We are Northern Arizona University's true lumberjacks, reflecting the roots of traditional forestry practices through Logging Sports.
Set in the outdoors, men and women compete against each other using crosscut saws, axes, chainsaws, and other tools to test their skills and knowledge in different forestry disciplines. From April 1-3 this upcoming year, the NAU Logging Sports team will be hosting the largest competition of the year for the second time!
This competition is the Association of Western Forestry Clubs Conclave (AWFC). At Conclave, teams compete in over 20 events which include: chopping, sawing, log rolling, wood and plant identification, choker setting, pole climb, and many more. Conclave is an intercollegiate competition with up to 15 schools attending. To host this competition will cost tens-of-thousands of dollars, but we are asking for your help with just a small donation
. Since the NAU Logging Sports team is small and relatively new, we need all the help we can get! Your donation will help us fund the building of structures (such as sawing and chopping stands, fences, etc.), purchasing equipment, storage, wood, and food for the event.
These will help us run a successful event and competition, to continue these traditional logging practices into the future. The team appreciates anything that you decide to donate. Please help us put on a great competition for all of the visiting schools and come on out and enjoy the competition!
