Hope for Teddy

Hi, my name is Carina and I started this for my son Teddy who is 16 years old and about a year ago started having seizures which were soon diagnosed as epileptic seizures. As time has gone by his seizures have worsened and is currently taking 3 medications and they still are uncontrollable. With all the research I have done on seizures and epilepsy my son is in for a life long ride which could possibly change if I could get him the right help from the right doctors. We have been patient and tried everything even the CBD oil but nothing seems to be working in his favor. He is not the same boy he was before these seizures started and it breaks my heart to see him with such confusion and in deep thought about why this is happening to him and why isnt he getting better. Unfortunately the state we live in and insurance we have does not help with any out of state cost and my goal is to be able to get him to Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota or UCLA so he is able to get the right treatment and hopefully have the opportunity to live his teen years enjoying life seizures free. As a mother i feel i need to go above and beyond to get the answers im looking for. The doctor my son currently is seeing is not listening to me and im not looking to waste time seaching for different answers from under qualified neurologist. My son has had every type of seizure there is and has fell many times and even split his chin open and broke his jaw. Im staying home with him at this time until we can get some kind of services in our home while he is out of public school. his seizures are uncontrolled after being on 3 and now going to be 4 different medications and he doesnt always have that feeling of one coming on. The worse feeling in the world is to see your child go through such pain and suffering and not be able to make it all go away but maybe i can if i can get the help from others to reach my goal and get him to a better doctor. I could go on about how this has been a struggle for him and the anxiety we both go through but i hope you all read this brief story and know that its all for him and me wanting the best for my son. thank you to all who will share and to those helping me to reach my goal it will mean the world to him and I.
