Help Nancy Use Her Wheels & Beat Cancer

So you find out you have severe degenerative joint disease and can no longer walk, perform your job or maneuver throughout your house...

That's what happened to my mom, Nancy.

Nancy has always taken care of others - she has worked with special needs children for 35 years and has always been kind, generous and helpful to others in her school.
She also took care of her mom during the last years of her life which, often times, required her to take time away from work.

The insurance company was nice enough 😀 to provide her with a very nice automated wheelchair; however there are two problems with this arrangement:
1. The wheelchair is too large to maneuver throughout her house & has put many holes & dents in the walls, trim and floors.
2. As nice as the wheelchair is, my mom can not leave the house with it making work, shopping or running everyday errands nearly impossible.

Here is how you can help:

Since my mom is now on a fixed income and almost all of the money she receives goes toward bills, our fundraising goal is two fold.
First, we would like to purchase a used wheelchair accessible van so she is able to leave the house again. These range anywhere between $25,000 and $35,000.

We are also looking to modify her home - widen the doorways and hallways in her home & make her kitchen more wheelchair accessible so she is able to move freely and complete everyday tasks independently. The total cost for this will be between $8,000 to $10,000.

My mom already has about 15,000 saved from her retirement.
