Title

Rent Bridge + Truck Repair So I Can Start My New Job

Short summary

I start a new job on the 1st after a couple months out of work. I’m short on rent, my truck needs a rear main seal so I can reliably get to work, I still need black polo shirts and jeans for the dress code, and I just moved so my funds went to deposits and basic survival. SNAP is halted for me in November, so I won’t have food assistance. I don’t want to be doing this, but I have no other choice.

The story

I finally have a confirmed start date on the 1st. I’m ready to show up and get stable again, but there’s a gap to bridge. Even with a start date, onboarding, HR setup, and the first paycheck take time. In the meantime:

Transportation: My truck needs a rear main seal. Without it, I can’t reliably get to work or handle basic errands.

Housing: I’m short on rent this month after moving and covering deposits and essentials.

Work clothes: I need black polo shirts and jeans for day-one dress code.

Food: SNAP is halted for November, so I won’t have food assistance during the ramp-up.

Gas/transport: I need to keep fuel in the truck until pay starts landing.

I’m asking for help with essentials only—enough to keep a roof over my head, get the truck roadworthy, meet the dress code, and cover groceries and gas while payroll catches up. I don’t want to be doing this, but I have no other choice.

For friends who know me

Seasonal workload: My Christmas season job starts at the same time. Christmas trees are already a two-job grind, and I’ll be working triple time between the new job and tree season.

Family situation: I’m in the middle of a separation after 25 years of marriage, and I’m taking care of my daughter, who moved with me. That responsibility comes first, and it’s part of why I need to stabilize quickly.

What your help covers

Truck repair (rear main seal)

Rent bridge for this month

Black polos and jeans for work

Groceries for November (no SNAP)

Gas and basic transport to and from work until the first paycheck

Why this matters

If the truck runs, I can start on time and stay reliable. If rent is covered, I keep a stable address. Clothes meet the dress code. Food and gas carry me through onboarding and payroll delays. This is a short, targeted bridge to get back on solid ground for me and my daughter.
