Dick Winzer
Donation protected
Most likely if you’ve gone out on a Friday night in Cook County, you’ve been served a drink by your favorite curmudgeon bartender Dick Winzer. Now, Dick needs our help!!!
On May 23rd, Dick went to work at The Gunflint Tavern with significant pain in his right foot. One hour later he was being rushed to the hospital in Duluth by ambulance, and went into a six hour surgery. He was confronted by multiple blood clots in his leg, and he also received the horrible news he’s been suffering with undiagnosed diabetes! Dick was within two hours of losing his foot! He is still in the hospital, but fortunately he’s been transferred to the Grand Marais hospital. He has a long road of rehab on his leg ahead of him to be able to walk again. No release date is in the near future.
I am asking as a friend and coworker for donations to help Dick with the enormous medical expences and living expenses. Currently, Dick is on the 80/20 sliding scale program and is facing significant medical expenses. He’s been out of work for 2 weeks now, and we don’t know when or if ever he’ll be able to return to bartending. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated, and if you don’t have the funds to donate, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers! Dick also loves getting visitors at the Grand Marais Hospital. You’d be rewarded by one of his epic deep belly laughs or a famous one-liner. Thank you for taking the time to help!
