Support for Keith

On December 15th our dad had a major stroke and heart attack.  The TPA administered in the ER did very little to help his symptoms, currently he has no use of his right arm and hand, severe right leg weakness and still is unable to communicate verbally. We know he is in there and we know that he will make a good recovery.  The neurologist anticipates recovery taking 3-4 months with full recovery up to a year. We did receive great news yesterday Dec. 17th that Healthsouth has a bed for him to begin his journey to full recovery.   Writing this is the hardest pill to swallow because my family has never asked for help, but I am asking for support for my mom in making sure dad can get everything he needs and she can keep up with the needs of the household.  My brother and I will help as much as we possibly can but we know that there will be some things that need to be done to the house if he comes home unable to fully care for himself as well as paying for therapists to come to the home after discharge from rehab to further help in his recovery.  When dad is able to talk to us we will catch "hell" for asking because dad would never ask for anything from anyone but he would gladly help anyone in need as he has done for decades as a volunteer fireman.  If you find it in your heart to help my family get my dad through this time we would be extremely grateful.  Any money raised that we don't need when all is said and done will be donated back to organizations that help families impacted by stroke locally.  Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers and support.
