Peaceful Playground

Our kids need a safe, positive, and inclusive playground to thrive at school.
Starting this January, grade 7 and 8 students at Parkdale Junior and Senior Public School will be trained as Peacekeepers to help younger students find peaceful ways to solve problems in the playground. The program is run by parent volunteers and supported by teaching staff.
The Peaceful Playground is a place where our kids find fun, laughter, play, kindness, respect for differences, praise, talking and listening, apologies, forgiveness, sharing, and help.
Funds are needed for training materials, incentives, and rewards for student Peacekeepers. We'd like to reward younger kids, too, when they successfully build peace in the playground. Your donations will provide students with Peacekeeper vests and peace packs (notepads, timers, badges, stamps, stickers), pizza parties, movie passes, and training certificates. We also need equipment for the playground: two signposted peace tables where students can talk and listen to each other to work out their differences.
Please support the Peaceful Playground and ask family and friends to pitch in. It makes a great gift alternative.
