Donna's Medical Fund

Donna has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Stage 4 means that it has spread to other areas. For Donna it has spread to her lungs, as well as her ovaries. She's got a large 4 inch x 3 inch tumor on her ovary as well as the golf ball sized tumor in her pancreas. With pancreatic cancer comes a vast amount of pain, pain that is hard to manage. The tumor in her pancreas is causing a blockage which is part of why she's in so much pain. She has now started chemotherapy. She is doing the hardest, strongest, toughest form of chemo. It takes 5 hours to disperse through her IV PICC line, then she takes a baby bottle looking thing with another chemo drug in it that disperses through her over the next 48 hours. Now they thought one of the steroids that's in her chemo would help manage her pain over the toradol... but it hasn't, she has been in the hospital for 4 days now. Toradol is an anti inflammatory, therefore while on her chemo meds, she can't be taking the toradol. Toradol has been her saving grace for her pain management since all of this has happened... She is now off the chemo meds and back to her regular. She has to be able to take them all orally before she's released. Her chemo treatments are once every 2 weeks. We go on a Monday for 5 hours the leave with her bottle for 2 days then go back to get it taken off. Hopefully we can get her pain to a manageable stage.

Donna and her husband are struggling to get by through all of this. Her husband is disabled and only gets so much a month, and obviously Donna can’t work right now. .It makes it hard on them and stresses them out even more when they don't need this kind of stress
