5280 Summer Freedom School

Hi! My name is Marissa Chandler and I am the Director of the 5280 Summer Freedom

School, run by BLM5280. I’ve also been a Freedom School teacher for all five years since the program’s creation. Did you know that it costs BLM5280 about $50,000 to host the 5280 Summer Freedom School each July? However, thanks to a generous grant from our comrades at BLM-OKC (Oklahoma City Chapter), donations made up to $20,000 will be MATCHED! That means that $20,000 in public donations = $40,000 total towards affirming and liberatory 5280 Summer program that is always free of charge to families.

Because I know how meaningful this program is to our community, I am raising funds that will be transferred to BLM5280 so that the organization can compensate instructors, pay for meals, and help purchase supplies necessary to create a successful Summer Freedom School.
