Jessica's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hi friends and family. As you all know, on June 6th, 2022, all of our lives were changed. However, none more than our sweet Jessica. On what seemed to be a regular drive north on interstate 25, Jessica and I spotted something odd in the distance. Headlights. There was something else odd. They were coming right for us. With about 100-200 yards of space left I had to think quick. In the lane to my right, another vehicle, next to it, nothing but guard rail. Directly to my left, solid concrete wall. Trapped. Time slowed as my adrenaline kicked in, knowing I had to do something, or we die. Only going 60 I was able to apply brakes and get behind the car to my right. Hoping the oncoming driver would just blow past on our left. For a second it seemed like it might work. Man was I wrong. The oncoming driver finally realizes what they had done and proceeded to slam on his brakes. In an eruption of smoke and rubber the oncoming vehicle comes sliding right for the vehicle that is now in front of us. Thinking quickly I figured if I'm lucky Once the oncoming vehicle hits the suv in front of us, maybe just maybe I'll have the room to squeeze by on the left. ALMOST. They collide. I get to the left. That's when I see the oncoming vehicle has turned and is now blocking both lanes. We were trapped again. SLAM. Smoke billows from our jeep as I look down to see, no airbag?! I can see, I can move, Jessica can you.....OMG. THE WORST. With eyes rolled back and blood seeming to pour from everywhere she was gone. But why?! No time for that gotta get her breathing and stable. As I stabilize her head and rub her chest she finally let's out a cry that will forever be imprinted in my mind. As terrifying as it was the most beautiful sound my ears had ever heard. It means she's alive! "911 what's your emergency" "I'm on i25 northbound between mesa ridge and fountain I need flight for life my best friend is about to die!" I cry "please hurry!" "Sir we have units in route they will be there in 2 minutes. Can you calm down and tell me what happend?!" I recall the accident. " are you hurt sir? " not at all so how is this possible!" It was in this moment I look down and see exactly what had happened. Lying in Jess' lap is a 2 ton floor jack! You know the thing you lift a car with to change a tire?! Yes that! There's no way! How?! As I look up I see a basketball size hole has been punched through our windshield. It had come from the oncoming vehicle we struck. What is the worst day of my life ended up being the next 5 hours of us rushing to the hospital for emergency surgeries. Almost 11 hours later she's done! She's and more gorgeous than ever! However I'm sure she's not going to feel the same way once all is said and done. Jess is missing several teeth, with a few more sure to follow. Along with metal plates and wires to re mend the several fractures to her upper and lower jaw. With injuries like this, we have no idea how long recovery will take. It's a day by day process. I will be by her side every single step of the way. So for once, I am asking for help. Anything. Just so I can stay with Jess and ensure she gets a full recovery. As well as dental and all the other fun bills that are sure to come. We love you all very much and are so grateful that God even kept her here with us! Let's get her out there ripping lips (fishing), and that ear to ear smile! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!
