****Help Support Mike Doyle***

Mike is a professional truck driver, he drives a 20 ton truck both locally and cross border normally hauling auto parts. On Tuesday January 16 he was making his return run with a load. He got to the company dock and decided to go into the back of the truck to move a pallet to the door of his truck. He wanted to help the fork lift driver to reach the pallet. There was a strap wrapped around the pallet. He was holding on to the strap, starting to pull the pallet when the strap broke. He fell backwards out of the doors of the truck 6 feet onto the pavement on his back, taking most of the force to his head. He is currently in the ICU unit in critical condition at Windsor Regional Hospital-Ouellette Campus in Windsor, Ontario. Mike had broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a basal skull fracture, bruising on one side of the brain, and swelling on the other. He has very little function on his entire left side which the Neurosurgeon believes will get better with rehab. His lung has been re-expanded and the swelling is down in his brain. He has a bacterial infection for which he is on antibiotics. He had a breathing tube which has since been removed though it could go back in if he does not do well. He is on heavy doses of pain medicine and is sometimes sedated. The total extent of his brain injury is unknown. He seldom responds to commands by the nurses. Mike is a strong man and a fighter. He is a family man who has been a great Father to his 2 children and his 2 step children, He is a Grandpa to 11 and Great Grandpa to 1 . He enjoys being a grandfather more then anything in the world. He loves to ride his motorcycle and to read. He will have a very long road to recovery and will probably not be able work. My Mother, his Wife, will now be the sole supporter if Mike is unable to return to work. Mike has no disability insurance and workman's comp is very slow. There will be many expenses in the future that are not covered. Your help will provide assistance to Mike and Peggy while Mike tries to make a full recovery.
