Be a Part of The Carver Center Miracle

Tax deductible
The Miracle is happening! The Miracle on Craig St has received so much love from the community. We have progressed with the help of our neighbors and supporters. We want to thank all our volunteers and donors who have contributed to our success. We wouldn’t have gotten here without you! It is now time to open up the next stage in fundraising so we can continue the renovation of the Carver Community Center.

Last time you supported our painting of the outside front murals with positive affirmations provided by the community. Your past donations have also supported us in planting perennial flowers in the front of the building in collaboration with Schenectady Urban Farms and Land Art Studio. We have also provided maintenance to the site, re-mulching and weeding of the outdoor playground, indoor flooring, appliances and paint removals and general maintenance of our building's grounds and expenses for operating the organization. We appreciate your support! As you may know, fundraising for capital projects and operating, especially for grassroots start-ups, can be very challenging. However, these improvements have helped us to deter vandalism, create a sense of pride and belonging with our neighbors, and get closer to renovating the site.

With that being said, we would like to thank some of our most recent donors!
The Universalist Unitarian $2500 June 2022 for outdoor courtyard murals
Community Development Block Grant $100,000 June 2022 for architect & engineering
The Reschovsky Family $5,000 July 2022 for outdoor playground art
Honest Weight Food Co-Op $7000 June 2021 Unrestricted
United Way of The Capital Region $25,000 June 2021 For Doula Programming

This summer we are focusing on adding additional art to the outdoor spaces, including the playground and courtyard. These are outdoor spaces we can potentially utilize while the indoor renovations are underway. We're also providing outdoor landscaping maintenance to the sight and installing a fence around the site this season. As we solicit the architect & engineering scope of work for our indoor renovations, we host volunteer renovation Saturdays from 10a-2pm laboring between indoor and outdoor tasks. These items help us to keep our building safe and continue to engage the community around the project! We have received positive feedback about the art on-site and want to continue this momentum that it's having in the community with your help! Help us reach our goal to re-open Carver Community Center and continue to serve the community.
