Marjorie Hertig Fund

Family and friends, I come to you humbly, to ask for help for my dear aunt Marjorie and her husband Eric.  Some of you may be aware of their situation, but for those that are not, please allow me to explain . My “aunt Margie”, as I so affectionately call her, has a rare form of cancer called Carcinoid Neuroendocrine, as well as Carcinoid Syndrome which is a result of the slow-growing tumors mostly found in the gastrointestinal system, but can affect her lungs and heart, as well as other parts of the body. Marjorie has had to have a third of her small intestine removed due to the cancer, which in turn has caused her to suffer from short bowel syndrome. Recently, Marjorie has been placed in the care of Hospice.  All of this has been the unfortunate result of a misdiagnosis and/or dismissal of symptoms by doctors. Despite this horrible disease, Marjorie has continued to fight this debilitating disease with sub par medical equipment and limited coverage of medication by Eric’s insurance.  As many of you sadly know, the toll taken on family to have to watch a loved one be torn down by such a horrible disease, is something you'd not wish on your worst enemy.  For Eric to have to watch this happen to the woman he planned to spend his life with is bad enough without having to spend all of their money and savings on equipment and medicine that may or may not work. This is where all of you come in.  We need your help.  We need to be able to give Marjorie the fighting chance she deserves. She's not given up with the limited resources already provided.  So maybe, just maybe, with your donation, we can supply her with the nebulizer with a back up battery, she so desperately needs. Maybe, with the medication needed, she can live the highest quality life possible for someone in her situation.  Maybe Eric and the kids can enjoy their time left without having the financial burden on their minds. Marjorie deserves the chance to continue to fight this disgusting disease. So we come to you, humbly asking for prayers, donations, and shares.  No matter the amount, we ask that you be part of keeping this spunky, funny, caring, woman here as long as possible and help her to be comfortable in her time here with us. If you are unable to help financially, please help us spread the word by sharing with as many people as you can.  Most importantly, we ask for prayers.  Prayers for Marjorie, for her family, for the doctors that treat her, and for a cure so that those after her are not afflicted with this horrible disease. I love my Aunt Margie, and it breaks my heart to see her struggle with this terrible disease. We wished there was something more we could do to help. This is what we felt God wanted us to do.  If we can take away some of the financial burden, then that's one less thing that they need to be concerned with.
