50km for James – Help Fund His Treatment

On Saturday 12 July, Mark and Camilla will be taking on the North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge – that’s 50km of hilly terrain, and a serious test of stamina – all in support of our brilliant friend James Hanfrey, who is living with an aggressive brain tumour (glioblastoma).

James is one of the kindest, sharpest, most loyal people we know. A devoted dad, a loving husband, and a fighter through and through. Since his diagnosis in May 2024, he’s been through surgery, chemo, and cutting-edge treatment. Against the odds, he’s doing remarkably well – but to keep that up, he needs continued access to life-extending treatments not available on the NHS.

These treatments are expensive. Every scan, vaccine, and therapy brings hope – but also cost.

We’re doing this challenge to raise critical funds for James’s ongoing care and to give him the best shot at more time with his family.
