We’re 50501 Harrisburg, a grassroots movement of everyday people who in early February of 2025 saw a need and showed up. We’ve organized 11 major protests in Harrisburg so far, bringing out thousands in defense of justice, democracy, human rights and to say NO KINGS!
After 11 protests, and with many more ahead, we could use your help covering the real-world costs our volunteers have been paying out of pocket.
Your donation will help cover expenses like:
• Permits when we gather at Riverfront Park (we try to use the Capitol steps, which are free, but not always available)
• $500+ for port-a-potties
• $2,000 to rent a large speaker system (our main system is donated by a volunteer, but they are not always available.)
• $100 per protest to insure the sound system (it's a $15,000 sound system)
• Coolers, water, and ice to keep our crowds safe (we also put out a SignUpGenius asking for volunteers to bring these, but want to ensure a minimum amount is always present)
• Safety vests for PeaceKeepers, signs, banners, and business cards
• Zip ties, garbage bags, caution tape, and more
No one in 50501 Harrisburg is paid. We’re a completely volunteer-powered movement of local people that found each other online and came together. Not a company, not a campaign. Just people, on the right side of history, standing up. Can you join us?
Anything you can give helps us create safer, louder, more impactful protests and lets our volunteers stay focused on showing up for democracy, not stressing about their personal bank accounts.
Whether you can give $5 or $500, it all adds up. Please share and support!
We know GoFundMe isn’t a perfect tool — anyone can start one, and it can be hard to know what’s legit. To help confirm that this fundraiser is official and being run by the actual organizers of the 50501 Harrisburg protests, we’ve included a direct link to it on our website: http://50501harrisburg.com/ is linked both to and from all of our verified social media accounts.
Still have questions or concerns? Want to get more involved? We'd love to hear from you.
