My name is Samson Patrick. I’m transgender (female to male, aka FTM). Healthcare costs can be really expensive for transitioning, even if covered by insurance. Top surgery would help me align with my body and gender identity, no longer require me to wear a binder, and it ultimate freedom from something that causes insane body dysphoria. The first time I filed for top surgery, I was successfully able to book a date. Unfortunately, my insurance turned it down and told me to reapply in the year 2018. I’m now eligible for the coverage, but they won’t cover what I need to get by. The costs include any insurance deduction, price of surgery insurance won’t cover, and the work missed for time in recovery. Any and all help would be absolutely incredible. I have a hard time reaching out for help, but this matters a great deal and will be followed up by more work to raise the funds for surgery and recovery/down time.
