On June 27th, Brennan Bailey, Ashley Bailey, Chris Bailey and Tonya Bailey will set out on a 500 mile journey to raise money to benefit local children seeking to pursue a college education. Brennan, Ashley, and Chris will begin walking in Orick, California and plan to end their journey at 5:00pm on Saturday, July 18th at Awesome RV in Chehalis, Washington. Tonya will follow the group in a RV, which has generously been donated by Awesome RV in Chehalis, and will provide food and a place to sleep. The money raised by Brennan will be used to provide scholarships to 5th grade students at Olympic Elementary School in the Chehalis School District. Brennan hopes that by getting students thinking about and preparing for college at a young age, we will be able to maximize the amount of students in our community who will be career and college ready when their time comes. The money raised by Ashley will be given to a female student at W. F. West High School who is looking to pursue a career in S.T.E.M. Ashley hopes that by providing these funds, we may inspire a new generation of young women to pursue a career in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The money raised by Chris will go to benefit current and future students of Lower Columbia College in Longview. Chris hopes that by providing funds to these students to help further their education, we will be helping them to open their own doors to a brighter future.
