This week, my Salesforce colleagues and I are taking on a pretty casual challenge: nearly 500km of cycling across the Pyrenees in four days, with around 6,500m of climbing ! ⛰️

We’ll ride from Toulouse to San Sebastián, crossing from France into Spain over four back-to-back stages of 160km, 100km, 145km and ~90km - including the Col du Tourmalet, one of the most iconic climbs in Tour de France history (!!), with more than 2,000m of climbing in one day.

~500km. ~6,500m climbing. 4 days. 2 countries.

What makes it even more special is that I get to do it with my Dad, alongside a fantastic group from Salesforce who are all using their August holiday to take on the challenge and raise money for great causes .

My Dad, Ian - or Kinger to many - is a founder and Director of Indreni, a children’s charity in Nepal that he runs entirely voluntarily alongside running his own business, while somehow still finding time to come cycling around Europe with me for a week! It feels especially meaningful to combine something Dad and I love doing together with a cause he has dedicated so much of his time to.

Indreni gives vulnerable children in Nepal a safe home, education, healthcare and long-term support - staying with them all the way through to independence. Since 2007, Indreni has grown from supporting just one child to supporting 70 children in full-time care, across two purpose-built homes and a state-of-the-art school.

Usually, my fundraising involves taking a group of Salesforce colleagues out to Nepal to support Indreni firsthand. This year, we’re doing things a little differently - taking on the Pyrenees and raising money for Indreni from afar. Salesforce matches every $/£/€ we raise!

Together, we’re raising money for Indreni, World Bicycle Relief and Greenhouse Sports, with Salesforce matching employee donations.
