Greetings, 500 Men Making A Difference
, based out of Brooklyn, NY is raising funds to send 5 "“ 7 community minded young men to Haiti February 15th
2014, to assist in the home rebuilding work created after the devastating earthquake in 2010. Numerous families have been separated, left homeless, or forced to live in small unsafe tents. Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC), also based out of Brooklyn, NY, has pledged a 10 year commitment to rebuilding homes in partnership with the Fuller Center for Housing (FCH) Global Builders Program
. As a participant on the first trip with EBC, I noticed an opportunity that needed to be addressed. There was a lack of MAN power ( 2 of 20) for heavy lifting, support, and security. After debriefing about the trip, 500 Men Making A Difference pledged to increase the amount of men by supporting and sending approximately 5 "“ 7 men on this 20 person team effort. We also wanted to provide an opportunity for select young men to take part in this experience which will most definitely impact how they build their personal character. We want to provide them with the opportunity to matter and be appreciated beyond belief in the world: literally. This fundraising effort will help defray or completely cover the cost of the trip and make it possible to change multiple lives: those in Haiti and those who participate in the building work. It is only with the support of our communities that we can accomplish this, and we need your support more than ever. Your donation plays a huge role in making a difference in the lives of our Haitian neighbors as well as our local communities.
