“Hi friends!! My name is Natalia, I am going to do the Camino de Santiago, from Saint Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain (500miles!.) The Camino de Santiago is a network of pilgrimage routes, primarily in Spain, leading to the shrine of Saint James the Apostle in Santiago de Compostela. These routes, which include the famous Camino Frances, offer a rich mix of historical, cultural, and spiritual experiences for walkers. I want to do this to support an amazing human being called Chris!! I will be starting the walk on 3rd June 2025.”

Natalia is currently a support worker for my son Chris. Chris is 28 years old and lives in supported living. He has a very rare degenerative neurological condition, Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia Type 11.

Hereditary spastic paraplegia type 11 (SPG11) is a complex form of hereditary spastic paraplegia characterized by progressive spasticity and weakness in the lower limbs, often accompanied by intellectual disability, cognitive decline, and other neurological features. There is currently no cure for SPG11, and treatment focuses on managing symptoms and improving quality of life. Chris loves to go out and about as much as he can but is only able to do so when he has a support worker or myself with him. Natalia has chosen to raise money whilst doing her walk, in order for Chris to do some exciting adventures and to cover the cost of the support that needs to accompany him. His wishes include, a trip to the theatre, a concert and top of his list is a few days away. Chris can not wait for this to happen.
