50 miles for my 50th birthday

Hi my names Ann-Marie am fundraising for some amazing people. I am going to walk 50 miles in the next month up till my 50th birthday on May 11th.
In August 2024 found I had Breast cancer and my world changed. Being a mum to 4 wonderful kids and finding the words to tell them mum has a battle on and helping them to realise mums not invincible. Well I didn't tell them straight away as normal dealing with things alone with my mum and dad and partner by myside. Got all tests done and got a treatment plan in place. Had a holiday booked for a year and decided to go and tell kids after so they didn't worry about me. So October the Chemo started wasn't a great end to it as veins didn't like me so got picline and well it coiled up in my arm which was unheard of, so a Hickman went in. With all this going on I also lost my partner to lung cancer suddenly so dealing with heart ache, funeral, family I was tired. on 19th December was admitted to Aberdeen Hospital with Sepsis and went to ICU for treatment. I came through this and put up to Ward 114 Cancer ward to get my strength back and few weeks I was ok and got great news on New Years Day from my surgeon that I was cancer free which was the best New Year present I could have got, but a week later big step back things got worse and ended back in ICU with Acid in Blood and for my family and friends the worst time ever getting a call to come in to say good bye. But I fought and fought and came back to my family, had no voice and first words was Happy Birthday to my oldest Daughter and she cried. I got out of the ICU after around 6 days back to Ward 114 was up and down for long time but started eating again and doing things for myself and after 2 Months I got home which was full of Emotions as deep down didn't know if I would see this place again. In March I had my surgery to remove the tissue round where the cancer had been in Breast and lymph Nodes. This was the not the end I had Radiotherapy to go and yes I was tired and also starting to come to terms that my lovely John not here to see me and just to say he's proud and lets fight this together, But I did it and was most excited and like a kid to RING THAT BELL. While was in hospital my youngest and myself made a bucket list and yes its stared I decided live life and worry later. I see now you have one life so live it. YES AM 50 SOON AND I WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE THAT HELPED ME THROUGH THE HARDEST FIGHT THAT I HAVE EVER HAD TO FACE. SO TO WARD 114, FRIENDS OF ANCHOR, GREEN ZONE ICU, WARD 304 AND 305 THE CHEMO WARDS. THIS IS FOR YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR SUPPORT AND GETTING ME TO WHERE I AM TODAY. I have still got long away to go to get my strength back and be able to do the things I used to but I have my health, my kids and family and work colleagues so am happy and doing this to show myself I can and to show the people that helped me from the brink of death I did it.
