I'm Joe, and my goal is to complete an unsupported endurance challenge of 50 Miles along the Allegheny 100 North Country Trail trek (hiking and running) on June 10th, starting at 6 pm (A100 challenge Info). This goal isn't just personal but also in support and to raise funds for my cousin Jonathan, who recently was diagnosed with cancer when they discovered a 11x16.6 cm tumor on the psoas muscle impacting his aorta, left kidney, adrenal gland and ureter. Currently, Johns Hopkins oncologists are unsure what type and specific treatment they can use to help Jonathan, but we know that he will be more than ready to battle this disease with whatever treatment they can find for him!
Jonathan is genuinely a one-of-a-kind guy. Anyone who knows or has met Jon instantly knows how great he is. He's 24, a hard worker, forever happy, and always finding a way to make you laugh. He loves his family, friends, and Minions. If there's music playing, especially "Bad to the Bone," he is the first to start dancing and singing and makes sure everyone else joins him. He's so great that even his Mom wrote a book about raising him called Jonathan's Rainbow. Jonathan is also a big fan of sports, winning multiple medals in the Special Olympics, especially basketball, frisbee, and swimming. His ability to enjoy his favorite activities is now compromised as he endures ongoing pain due to the tumor's size and location.

I'm challenging those who know Jonathan to please donate at least $50 for the 50 miles I'm trekking so we can help him and his family financially through treatments and surgeries and in all hope and trust to beating this cancer. With your donation, whatever amount, his family can pay for treatment, travel, surgeries, and medications. I will update you on his status when I find more information as he undergoes more tests this week.
