'50 beers and breweries' May Tour fundraiser for MVT
My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I'm Charlie Smith, an acoustic singer-songwriter from Southampton, UK. I'll be hosting live music events all around England and attempting to drink 50 beers in May, responsibly, I may add. The aim of this is to support live grassroots musicians and venues. Six venues will be used to host nineteen independent acts in my most ambitious run of shows yet.
The music venue trust works hard to protect & secure grassroots music venues. As a performer and music lover, I feel that their work is very important to the future of live local music. As an individual who has worked in the live music industry for the past couple of years, I know firsthand how tough it can be for artists & venues alike. It is in tough times that we should stand together, supporting each other as best we can. It's a real privilege to be in a position to support this great cause.
The events are as follows:
Friday 2nd of May - Four Horsemen (Bournemouth)
Sunday 4th of May - Pig Brewery (New Forest)
Friday 9th May - Fox and Newt (Leeds)
Thursday 15th May - Open mic night @ Belgium & Blues (Southampton)
Friday 16th May - Royal Oak Harlesden (London)
Sunday 18th May - Belgium & Blues (Southampton)
Sunday 25th May - Flack's Brewery (Romsey)
