5 YEARS. 5 DAYS. £5,000. Two charities. One mission.

Hi, my name is Hannah! Next year marks five years since my life changed forever.
On Saturday 21st May 2022, just four days before my 19th birthday, I went to work an extra shift at my part-time job as a waitress. Within just one hour of starting work, my boss stabbed me twice for no reason other than her own delusion.

I was stabbed once in my left hip, 17cm deep, and once in my lower back, 8cm deep. I was incredibly lucky to survive. My injuries could easily have been life-threatening and, on the journey to hospital, nobody knew what the outcome would be. One moment I was looking forward to celebrating my birthday and competing in dance competitions, and the next my life had changed forever.

In October 2022, I testified against my boss in court. She was found guilty of attempted murder, GBH with intent and possession of a weapon in a public place and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

However, despite the severity of her crimes, she was released after serving just 3 years and 8 months under the Early Release Scheme (ERS). Receiving that news was incredibly difficult and left me feeling let down by the justice system. It was a reminder that although a sentence may come to an end, the impact on victims continues long after.

But I refuse to let what happened define me.

Instead, I want to turn one of the darkest experiences of my life into something positive.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the attack, my dad, my sister, my partner and I alongside our close family friends will be taking on our biggest challenge yet. From Monday 17th May to Friday 21st May 2027, we will be walking the Great Glen Way in Scotland, from Inverness to Fort William, over five days, finishing on the fifth anniversary of the attack.

Our challenge is simple:

5 YEARS. 5 DAYS. £5,000.

Our goal is to raise £5,000, with 50% of all funds raised going to the Ben Kinsella Trust and 50% going to Let's Be Blunt CIC.

The Ben Kinsella Trust works tirelessly to educate young people about the devastating consequences of knife crime, helping prevent future violence through education and awareness. They have supported me since I first reached out to them, and I have experienced first-hand the incredible work they do for victims and communities.

Let's Be Blunt CIC is dedicated to raising awareness of knife crime, supporting victims and their families, and creating opportunities for honest conversations, education and positive change within communities. Their work is making a real difference to people whose lives have been affected by serious violence.

Sadly, knife crime continues to affect far too many lives. Every day we see stories of people whose futures have been changed in an instant, leaving victims, families and entire communities to deal with the consequences. Raising awareness, educating young people and supporting those affected has never been more important.

Many of you have supported my previous fundraising events, and I will never be able to thank you enough. Every donation, every message of encouragement and every person who has shared my story has helped me more than you'll ever know. Your support has been a huge part of my recovery over the last five years.

This is our biggest challenge and our biggest fundraising target yet, and we know we can't do it alone.

If you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, you'll be directly supporting two organisations that are working every day to tackle knife crime, educate young people and support victims. Every donation, every share and every conversation helps us move one step closer to creating lasting change.

Five years ago, I was incredibly fortunate to survive.

Five years on, I'm choosing to keep moving forward.

Thank you for standing beside me throughout this journey. Your support means more than words can say, and together we can honour this milestone by helping protect others from experiencing the same trauma.

Together, we can make a difference.
