5 Year old suffers 3rd degree burns

5-year-old Damani Spears gets severe 3rd degree burns at the hands of her mother's boyfriend who poured scalding hot water over and over again covering 15 percent of her body. Because of delayed care at the hands of her mother and the boyfriend Damani's organs started to fail. This beautiful 5-year-old girl is looking at a life-long recovery process due to the horrendous job DCFS has done in not stepping in earlier to help prevent this tragedy after they received numerous phone calls and emails. Unfortunately, Damani is looking at multiple surgeries, mental health counseling, keloid complications, and a life-long process in helping her to feel confident when she looks in the mirror.

Any help in helping this young girl overcome this nightmare will be graciously appreciated as she is now being taken care of by her great-grandmother who is on a fixed income. They say it takes a village to raise a child and we hope you will be a part of Damani's village.
