5 month old Junebug and her emergency surgery

Hello fellow dog lovers,

I know that there are many, many other causes that are more severe than this but I know there are also many, many people with huge tender hearts towards a good dog.

Junebug landed in emergency surgery last Saturday for INTUSSUSCEPTION. It’s where the small intestines and the colon telescope in on each other. No bueno. I almost didn’t do the surgery for her but you see, she isn’t just my dog. She is really my 13 year old daughter’s and she really does take care of her too! My daughter might be a future cattle rancher so when she saw Junebug’s (formally Nala Belle) on the Angels among Us petfinder page she wanted to see her. I wanted a hound that didn’t shed but when we meet her, her personality was exactly what we wanted! People and Animal loving! Smart with a touch of sass :).

we had her less that a week when we took her to Florida with us and had a blast!! So when I was faced with mounting vet bills within 3 days and an emergency surgery bill on the weekend, I couldn’t choose the alternative even though reality hit me hard. Very hard.

So here we are, a week post op and so far so good, not completely out of the woods yet but I am also left with a grand total bill of $13k. Lord have mercy and I hope she can have a good long life because this was her one and only “get out of jail free” card.
