5 Lads, 4 Weeks, 3 Peaks, 2 Grand, 1 Dids

Hello. I'm Pete (fat lad 2nd from left). Ben, Rick, Dave and Daz make up the rest of the bunch. We wanted to get together and raise money in aid of 'Dids'. After throwing some ideas around, local 20 miles walks etc we stupidly went in for the full Yorkshire 3 peaks. We've got only 4 weeks from now to try and get some kind of training in....

It's a 24 mile walk, ascending up 3 mountains over mixed terrain for a total elevation of over 5,500 feet. We anticipate it'll take us 10-12 hours to complete (leaving enough time for me to show the lads Hull Pot and have a nice ploughman's lunch!)

Let me tell you more about Dids,

On the 1st September 2020, David 'Dids' Hopkins & his family's lives changed when David was told he had grade 4 brain cancer terminal and given 12-18 months. The family are heartbroken

There is no cure for this and very little support under the NHS standard of care. Did has had 2 surgeries, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and completed treatment in the UK and now accessing a chemo for reoccurrence after the tumour unfortunately grew back in April 2021.

David and Nicki have a 9 year older daughter together and he also has 2 older children. The family have found a treatment in Germany where a vaccine is developed from analysis of the tumour. This is due to start August 2020 and has already cost the family over 60k in treatment abroad trying to prolong David’s life to make more memories as a family and with a quality of life.

For this to continue they need to keep raising money and need the help to raise at least 150k.
