My names Veronica and I've lived in West allis my whole life, I never have seen a flood this bad before. Saturday August 9th I was forced to evacuate my apartment located on a basement level due to the extremely high water levels rising. Floating logs smashed into the basement windows, bursting water into the home. In less than 15 minutes, the house filled with over 5 feet of water. We weren't able to get the water out for a whole day with no access to water pumps. I lost everything in the apartment. We don't have flood insurance and are left with nothing. We have been so uncomfortable, Sleeping on floors. Only 1 change of cloths, Struggling with transportation, Huge loss on electronics making it difficult to find resources. My daughter and I need as much help as we can get during this difficult time. We are trying to get back to normal living conditions ASAP. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
