This spring, I’m taking on a challenge that pushes me far outside my comfort zone.
Over 5 days, I’ll be hiking the entire coastline of the Isle of Wight — roughly 67 miles — carrying everything I need on my back and attempting to survive primarily on foraged food along the way, Whilst filming the ups and downs along the way,
That means long days on foot, unpredictable coastal weather, limited calories, and relying on whatever wild, edible plants I can safely identify. It’s not just a hike — it’s a physical and mental test of resilience, patience, and adaptability.
I’ve chosen to do this in support of Dementia UK, a charity that provides specialist Admiral Nurses to families affected by dementia. Their work offers practical and emotional support to people facing one of the most challenging conditions a family can go through.
Dementia affects so many lives — not just those diagnosed, but the people who care for them. The support Dementia UK provides can make an enormous difference during incredibly difficult times.
This challenge is my way of stepping into discomfort to raise awareness and funds for a cause that truly matters.
The challenge:
67 miles around the Isle of Wight coastline
5 days of hiking
Low fitness starting point
Surviving primarily on wild foraged food
Carrying essential gear only
There will be tough moments — fatigue, hunger, and the elements — but that’s part of why I’m doing it.
If you’re able to support, any donation — big or small — will go directly to Dementia UK and help fund their vital work.
Thank you for reading, supporting, or sharing — it genuinely means a lot.
