Hello my name is Michael Hopper this is the third year of doing the 5-day 50-mile white cane awareness walkathon. The first year I walked three of the days alone. We have came a long ways last year we had eight participants 4 people completed the 50 miles. 50 miles is quite a challenge for all of us it is exciting to see people doing things they didn't think they could do and pushing themselves beyond their normal routines. While raising white cane awareness. My goal is to create Unity within the blind community and to get us all outside. I also want to create events within Missouri for the blind low vision community. All the funds are raised this year will go to 4 Rivers Council of the blind.
