5 Boys, 1 Horrific Crash, 1 Miracle

Donation protected
Five boys (four of them siblings), one horrific crash, but one Christmas miracle.

On Wednesday, December 16th, the lives of 5 young boys and families changed forever.  They were on their way to celebrate the 16th birthday of Joshua at Dave and Busters.  They were stopped at a stop light and violently rear ended.  The force of the van hitting them from behind shoving their car into the intersection and in the path of  an on-coming semi truck.

As you can imagine medical bills for just one child adds up quick, but 4 boys will place a huge weight on any family.  If anyone knows Jermaine, you know his huge smile lights up any room.  He has the energy that we all wished we had!  Jermaine is such a talented young man.  He was in musical theatre and one of the star basketball players at Edison School of the Arts and currently plays for Shortridge High School.   He is smart, talented and so full of life.

It is nothing short of a miracle that they are all alive.  All of them were rushed to local hospitals.  Jermaine, 15 was in the back seat in the middle and suffered the most trauma.  He fractured his seventh vertebrae, tore all the ligaments in his neck and lost a kidney.  Jermaine had surgery on Friday and had 2 rods and screws placed in his neck to try and help the ligaments repair correctly.  Jonathon Jr. 20, has a laceration on his liver and cuts all over.  Jeremiah 18, may face plastic surgery, his face is severely bruised and his eye is swollen shut.  Josiah 16, has a puncture in his back, a gash on the back of his head and chin and had to get had to get 16 staples in his head and his chin stitched up.   Darren 20, fractured his jaw and had to get 2 plates and screws to hold his jaw together and his mouth is wired shut for a couple of weeks.

There are also other siblings that were not in the horrific crash.  With Christmas right around the corner, please donate to this incredible family so they can continue to focus on the healing of their children and not have to worry about the financial burden of the medical expenses.
