On May 3rd, a bunch of friends are rallying together to ride in the 5 Boro Bike Tour in NYC to raise money for brain research (team name: "Brooklyn Queens Brain Research"). We've all chosen causes that personally resonate with us and are created this GoFundMe to pool together funds to support further research.
- Bex will be riding to raise money for the American Cancer Society. My father was diagnosed with cancer when I was in medical school and it's thanks to the hard work of clinicians and researchers that he's in remission today. Every dollar raised helps change how care is delivered to patients fighting cancer. Learn more at: cancer.org
- Brandon is riding to raise money for the American Cancer Society and in memory his father, Robert. Bob fought a long 7-year battle with cancer. One of the brightest moments of that battle was during Relay for Life (part of ACS), during which 30 friends and family showed up to support, laugh, play football, and enjoy life. Please consider donating to raise money for ACS in memory of Bob. Learn more at: cancer.org
- Walt will be riding for the Michael J. Fox Foundation in memory of his father’s 10-year fight against Parkinson's Disease. Learn more at: michaeljfox.org
- Matt is riding for the MS Society in honor is his pal at NHL.com, Brian Compton, who was diagnosed two years ago and has an annual MS Walk in Jones Beach. Matthew is also riding for the Alzheimer’s Association via the Brooklyn Memorial Cup For Alzheimer’s game that he founded due to having three family members go through the trials and tribulations of Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
