#bigCCancerFund: Survive #Colorectal

#bigCCancerFund: Hello, my name is Chris and I'm going through colon rectal cancer treatment. I'm trying to raise funds to cover expenses such as treatment, rent, and day-to-day living costs. Federal Disability doesn't initially consider cancer a disability, and so the appeal process has been filed but also takes a long time to work through the system with no end nor guarantee in sight. I've exhausted my savings and friends' resources. My day-to-day living expense obligations are obviously months behind. Charities won't help with expenses unless you have a verified income for reasons that I cannot understand. Thus, I have no other options I'm aware of than to come ask people to help me survive cancer and live through that process while keeping day-to-day life outside the hospital going and respectful. Treatment involves chemotherapy: (~large IV bags), radiation treatment, surgeries, and a lot of poking & prodding and trips to the hospital. I'm experiencing chronic fatigue, pain, neuropathy, memory issues as well as dealing with a temporary colostomy bag (the “magic balloon”, as I refer to it) and a host of other side effects of treatment and surgery. I'm getting ready to go through another series of chemotherapy post my first December surgery after months of treatment. Obviously, I can't work (sit or stand at a desk, or anything else, for long periods) in these current physical and mental states during treatments and for some time to come. You wouldn't believe how hard it is some days to just get out of bed or get going. I need to make it through this time of treatment and healing, and then get back out there interviewing for the next stage of my career/life.   I really do appreciate anyone taking the time to read my story and possibly share it with others or donate what you can. Apparently, it takes more than doctors, surgeons, and medicine to survive and live through the challenges of cancer. Life can bite you, but I'm not ready to go yet.   Cheers, Chris C.
