Cancer and Bills

Hi everyone. This is my best friend Francisco (many people know him as jaby like myself). He had been having testicular pain starting sometime in end the end of the summer of 2021. I will go into more detail about how he found out it was cancer.

On November 2nd he decided to get this looked at as his pain would come and go. When it would go and come back the pain would stay an extra day as it would come back and then leave. That same day he got a sonogram per the doctors orders as she assumed it could have been an infection or Epididymitis.

On November 5th he was called with his results stating that a mass was found and that he would be referred out to a urologist to have it looked at.

November 8th he saw his urologist to have his results looked over and have himself examined. He also had blood work done and to make sure his markers in his blood were clear from any tumors or cancer cells. His doctor advised him that it wouldn’t be possible to have a biopsy done in this area due to the delicacy of the area. He would proceed to suggest him to wait until after thanksgiving to see if the mass would go away or get smaller as he was put on antibiotics for a possible infection.

On December 14th I had another sonogram done since his testicle was hurting again and he called his doctor because of this.

December 15th his doctor called him in to go over the 2nd sonogram results and his mass stayed the same. His urologist then proceeded to then recommended surgery to have the testicle removed.

On December 30th he was scheduled to have his surgery but was advised to wait until January as his insurance deductible would start over and he might have to have after care or other appointments that he would have to attend and it just made sense for him to avoid having to spend way more money. We All know surgery can get expensive. He was rescheduled for January 13.

On January 13 he had his right testicle removed.(he kept his left)

On January 20th he got his staples removed and got the results of the biopsy of the mass found. (95% EMBRYONAL CARCINOMA AND 5% YOLK SAC TUMOR)

In January 24th he got a cat scan to make sure his cancer didn’t spread and to make sure it was contained and he was clear.

On January 26th his surgeon called him to go over his results on his CT scan and was told that it had moved to a retroperitoneal lymph node. He was then referred out to an oncologist to determine what type of treatment he would undergo for the cancer spreading.

February 2nd was his appointment with the oncologist and was told that he was in stage 2C of his cancer and that he would need chemo therapy he was then referred to a medical oncologist.

February 16th he met with his medical oncologist and was given his treatment plan and pretty much gave him the run down as far as what will be given to him. Bleomycin, Etoposide, and Cisplatin. He would be doing 3 to 4 cycles of this.
Week 1 is Mon He would get all 3 medicines and then Tuesday-Friday he would get 2
Week 2 is only Monday and he will get 1 medicine with would be bleomycin
Week 3 is would be the same as week 2. Just Monday.
Then we start all over and do that 2 or 3 more times. All depends on what his medical oncologist decides and how his cancer takes chemo.

On February 23 he got his chemo port put in for his chemo therapy.

He will start his treatment on February 28th.

Jaby is a talented hair stylist and hair is his passion. He loves what he does and being apart from work will affect his income. He fortunately has insurance which does help with cost for part of his medical bills and expenses. But him going through chemo will affect his work as he won’t be taking clients during his treatment and his other job won’t cover all his monthly expenses. All proceeds will be going to his medical expenses and make sure he’s at float with everything until he’s able to get back to work. Jaby has and will continue to keep everyone updated on his progress. Regardless of the matter I want to thank every single one of you, and I ask that you share and spread the word so that we can all help a beautiful soul throughout this whole journey. ❤️ THANK YOU! STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY.
