Animal Advocates sue KY Governor
My name is Michele Athey Newtz. I am an animal advocate who administers a Facebook Page, Fiona’s Legacy, dedicated to improving animal shelters in Kentucky through legislation. It’s a long road and we need your help. I, along with other respected animal advocates, have filed a lawsuit against Kentucky Governor Matt Bevins and Commissioner Ryan Quarles of the Agriculture Department for non-compliance with Kentucky Humane Shelter Laws that pertain to properly monitoring and managing those shelters. The majority of our shelters are noncompliant and the animals suffer because there is no oversight or enforcement.

Lawsuits are expensive and we need to raise money to help our attorneys Nolia Batey and Katie Brophy fight the good fight on our behalf. Please donate and share if you are able and support the cause. This is not tax-deductible. Our animals have suffered long enough, and Kentucky is known worldwide as having the worst record in the United States when it comes to animal welfare.
The time is now to make change. Won't you help us help
them.
