Maddux’s Fight Against CHD

Jordon and Brittany Smith are parents to a very special little girl, Maddux. Maddux was born with Holt-Oram Syndrome. This is a rare disorder that sometimes affects upper limbs and the heart. Maddux has been such a fighter and has already beat so many odds. She is truly an extraordinary child. Over the past almost ten months of her life, Maddux has has several doctor visits and has had to travel to Atlanta, where she was born, to see a doctor that is specialized in Children with Holts-Oram. Jordon is a car salesman that works very hard to support his family. He is the bread winner of the family and has had to miss work while they have been in Atlanta during this stay. He and Brittany are great parents and they would do anything for Maddux or any of their children. They have had to spend time away from her sisters and have had to spend over a week now on Atlanta which can be expensive. Maddux was scheduled for her first of several operations on Tuesday. It seemed to be going well but there were setbacks that resulted in her having another operation the next day. She has been a warrior and has pulled through the uphill battle. She still has obstacles to pass and a road to recovery but we have remained faithful in God. Because Maddux is in CICU (where she will spend at least a few more days) they are not able to stay in the room with her so they spent the first few nights in a hotel until a room was available in the Ronald McDonald House. They also spend money daily on meals and other necessities. I am Jordon’s sister, Anna. I wanted to set this up for them because I know they are very dedicated to their children and I want to make sure that they have everything they need. I also want to make sure that things are taken care of at home for them while they are away. They are very selfless people that wouldn’t ask anyone for anything but I have had so many kind hearted people that have asked how they can help so I wanted to set up a way for everyone to be able to give from their hearts to this family. This is a circumstance that would prove difficult for any family and we are so grateful for all of the thoughts, prayers, and kind words we have received. If you are not able to donate that is okay, we would really appreciate if you could just lift Maddux, her parents, and our family up in prayer as we all stand beside her through her fight! We can’t wait to see her defeat this battle and hold and kiss her again!!! Thank you to all! I will keep you updated.
