On Friday, January 28th, a house fire occurred in Ramore, Ontario, destroying my friend Robert Burling’s home. Thankfully Robert, also known as “Bob the Honey Man,” wasn’t home or injured. Bob has found shelter with his generous neighbours for the time being and hopes to rebuild this spring. Like many people, Bob didn’t have home insurance and is asking for donations and support to construct a new home and cover the costs of lost items and equipment, including his off-grid solar system. He estimates it will cost approximately $50,000.
Bob is well known for selling his honey products at local farmers' markets from Timmins to Kirkland Lake and along the highway in between. He is an extraordinarily kind and generous person and has been a great friend and beekeeping mentor over the years.
Please support him in any way you can; every little bit helps.
