Project LLOKI (standing for 50,000ft Liquid Oxygen-Kerosene Ignition) is a team of juniors and seniors from McKinney, Texas working towards flying a Liquid-Fueled rocket 50,000ft by May 2021!
We will not only be one of the first high school teams to launch, but we will also be beating the current collegiate record for a liquid-fueled rocket launch, currently set at 13,205ft!
We already have multiple parts machined, including the injector (the heart of the engine), among other plumbing components.
We have completed engine and feed system design, and are currently finalizing the design for the recovery system. We are having important components for the engine and plumbing systems machined at a local machine shop.
However, as a very low budget high school team with very little money, we still have a lot we need to purchase, including parachutes, a DAS system, nosecone, propellants for testing and launch, among other things.
Through YOUR help, we will be able to fly this rocket, which is planned to be flown at the Mojave Test Area in California.
For more details, and to meet the team, check out our website !
Disclaimer: All money left over after the project will be donated to the McKinney High School engineering club.
