When Michael was six months old, we found out that he had a cataract and that surgery would be required. We paid a deposit of $1500 prior to surgery. After surgery, we were given a bill of $10,000. Thankfully, insurance covered a majority of that. However, we were still left with a bill of over $4000. A year later, January 2018, we found out that a second surgery may be required if he doesn't start showing improvement. This surgery would be for lens replacement. Today, February 16th 2018, a week before his surgery date, we get a call informing us that the amount due BEFORE surgery is $4000. We don't have an accessible $4000. There would still be fees due post-op as well.
