This is my cousin Ted!(Ted McGroder) As many of you may or may not know he has had a tragic and life changing accident whilst on holiday in Ibiza with his long term partner Patrice.
Among many horrific injuries and broken bones Ted has sustained significant damage to his brain, optic nerves and facial structure which has required multiple surgeries. A month on Ted is out of intensive care but is having continuing complications and needs 24hr care. Ted’s family flew out immediately to be by his side and remain there over a month later with Patrice.
At this stage the family are taking it Day by day but they remain in hospital in Ibiza unable to fly home due to Ted’s condition. The travel insurance organised prior to the trip will not cover any costs including hospital and air ambulance home which alone costs upwards of $280 000. This obviously puts an enormous strain on those closest to Ted, including Ted himself.
As the financial costs are mounting and emotional toll is lingering I am reaching out on behalf of The McGroder family to ask for your help!
Many closest to the family have already generously contributed, however with ongoing costs for more surgery and rehab when Ted gets home our target is not yet reached.
I understand our target appears ambitious, however in reality the total costs are much higher than this.
