Hi, I'm Brian. I know...it's hard to look at. I find it difficult too but it's what I look like now, from Basal cell carcinoma. I'm a painter by trade, self-employed and a native of San Diego, CA where the cost of living is 30% higher than the rest of the US. Cancer, both Basal cell and Melanoma has not only affected my health, it's affecting my ability to earn a living. My wound must remain free and clean of any bacteria, chemicals and dirt. Now I'm an unemployed painter and a native of San Diego...it just got even harder. The Cancer had eaten away my nasal bones, sinus walls, cartilage, a portion of my rt. lower eye socket and cheek bone along with the tissue. On Wednesday, January 10th, 2018, the surgeon, Dr. Nahm will begin creating a graft from skin he will take from other parts of my body and attach it to my forehead, down my nose and across my cheek. He said if I think my face hurts now with this hole in it, the next surgery is 10 times more painful and invasive. A clean, calm environment is key to wound healing and immune boosting. I am faced with many surgeries over the next few months so I need your help as I will still be unable to work. I live alone, I have no family to help me. I need at least $2,800 a month in order to cover the bare minimum of surviving. I have depleted my savings as I have not been able to work since my first surgery. In an effort to make money I am selling anything of value (because having my health and getting a second chance at life again is more precious than any trinket that I use to cherish) including all of my collectible items from; Comic Books, Barbie Dolls and Figurines , Baseball Cards to Black Powder Revolvers and Rifles.
