Dear Friends and Family,
I along with 3 other medical students at The University of Toledo College of Medicine have been selected to travel to The Philippines this June with Students for Medical Missions for a surgical medical service trip. While we are there we will be working with physicians to perform and aid in surgeries for those are medically underserved and underrepresented.
Serving those at home and worldwide has been a huge part of my decision to pursue a career in medicine and in surgery. I want to be able to connect with people from all walks of life through community, culture, and medicine. This experience will allow me to practice my skills, learn from the physicians and patients, but most importantly serve those who are in need of medical care.
Traveling across the world on a medical student budget can be pretty difficult so any donation amount helps! What makes it all worth it is to know that we have the potential to make an impact on someones life just by doing what we love.
