4yrs OF A HOPELESS SITUATION AND WE NEED HELP
Donation protected
My name is Maj. I’m from NJ, but I currently reside in NC. For the last few months, I’ve been riding past this bus stop back and forth from traveling, and I always noticed 3 homeless people completely bundled up (due to cold weather) every time I drive past. Two days ago, I happened to drive past for the first time without anything on my schedule, and I decided to stop. I approached them, and they said they’ve been there for months and nobody has stopped to offer any help. THAT WAS ALL I NEEDED TO HEAR! They expressed that they just wanted a job and something to eat. I fed them pizza that night, and the next day I got in contact with the mayor. He hasn’t reached back out yet because he’s busy, but I can’t wait; I want to help them now. So I’ve been here with them ever since, checking on them and feeding them. They’re sitting in the car with me right now, actually. So I’m going to let them tell their story themselves. It’s a mom with her 2 sons beside her.
I'm Eric, 30.
I'm Keyitay, 28.
I'm Miss Sheila, 61.
We pray that somebody helps with getting housing and getting off these streets because sleeping at the bus stop is taking a toll on our health. We’ve been homeless since 2021. We’re from Chicago; our landlord sold our place, and we received a notice saying if we didn’t have $3000, we had to go, and then the next day we were evicted. We couldn’t risk being on the streets in Chicago because of the violence, so we’ve been in NC ever since, and we’re just looked down upon because of our skin color as African Americans. We just need a chance!!! But nobody has given us one until we met Maj here. He’s been a blessing to us, and I hope this fundraiser he’s doing for us can be the spark to get us off these streets. With God, all things are possible, and for 4 years we’ve just been praying for a miracle. We’re tired! The funds will go to new clothes, food, cleaning our bodies and somewhere to lay comfortably.
