In Memory Of Dan Sulger Love Deeply

Love deeply, forgive freely and laugh often- The Daniel J. Sulger Memorial Fund. December 16, 1955-December 29, 2015.  A life well lived.
   Daniel, a Walton native and longtime owner of Daniel Photo-graphics, husband/soul mate of Lori Sulger since meeting in 1997, becoming engaged one month later and marrying after a one year courtship on 08/09/ 1998 and Father to Emily Sulger, a tenth grader at Walton Central passed away suddenly on Dec. 29. He was hospitalized on his 60th. birthday at Wilson Hospital due to extreme dehydration and nausea. He was diagnosed with renal failure and began dialysis. It was hoped and expected that his kidney function would normalize and he could go home. Unfortunately further testing revealed small cell cancer in his liver that had probably originated from his pancreas. Though diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, treatment options were being discussed when his health suddenly deteriorated further and with his wife at his side he passed away much sooner than anticipated. Daniel and Lori owned and operated their photography studio together and provided Walton and nearby communities with years of priceless, cherished photographs including sports, preschool, dance, wedding and family portraits.
   Lori plans to continue to run the studio which bears his name as a tribute to him and as a way to provide for their daughter.  Because of Daniel's sudden passing which left many unplanned expenses, memorial donations are urgently needed immediately by his family to cover burial, and funeral services, medical expenses and household bills to get this mother and daughter back on their feet. His passing was unexpected and he had no life insurance, unintentionally leaving Lori with all the burden of providing for expenses, bills and college funds for the future of their daughter.
   Any donations left over after expenses are met will be deposited into a college fund for Emily. Dan wished for Emily to pursue a college education. Emily is an excellent student who is involved in many extracurricular activities. At this time, she plans to attend medical school.
   Dan's quiet, gentle manner, coupled with his artistic abilities made him a popular photographer. If you have been blessed with one of his timeless photographs or had the honor of knowing this gentleman please consider donating to this cause to make this unplanned journey easier for his family. Every donation, no matter how small will be appreciated and put to good use. Also consider bringing your family in to have a custom portrait session with Lori soon, as any business given to them will help Lori support her daughter on her own, as well as support small, local business. Photographers have generally experienced a loss of income in recent years, as more people take their own cell phone photos instead. This trend has left many photographers without any savings or emergency funds, including the Sulger family.
