Close to Lake Victoria, in Kenya, a strong and brave little boy - Millard - is fighting for his life and needs our help.
Millard was a healthy 6 month old, and was just learning to crawl, when he had his first seizure. It’s been three and a half years of doctors, specialists and a variety of neurologists and scans that have led to his diagnosis: his Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) is leaking, which is causing inflammation to the brain and that causes the seizures.
Millard’s health has been in a steady decline - he’s gone from a healthy baby, with a love for visiting elephants in the national park, to a sick child who spends his days in and out of the hospital.
Though he once spoke, he is now mute, and it is believed that he will continue to decline, without immediate treatment. However, after 3 and half years of medical bills, treatments and different medical opinions, his parents - Steve & Miriam - aren’t able to afford the treatment anymore.
This Gofundme is to pay for Millard’s hospital bills, so that he will be able to have the procedure to drain the fluid on his brain, as well as the bills for his new medication so that he could hopefully regain some quality of life.
For what is a routine procedure in first world countries (and offered for free in Denmark and other countries in Euorpe) this treatment is expensive, inaccessible and right now standing between Millard and a healthy, happy life.
