Hi everyone! My name is Meredith Tesser and I am making this page for my father Lawrence Tesser. In the past two years my dad went from a healthy, vibrant, and athletic man to someone needing a wheelchair to get around. He can no longer work or provide for his family. This is due to his inability to walk or stand for even a short period of time. He has been suffering from an undiagnosed neurological illness. Many signs point to ALS. However, he has been circled through a loophole of second opinions and various tests such as, CT scans, EMGS, MRIS, X-rays and extensive lab work. He has no definitive diagnosis as of now. It began with his head leaning heavily to the side and his leg shuffling behind him. He was soon after diagnosed with Dysphagia (difficulty swallowing food or liquids) and had a feeding tube inserted this past July. Despite these limitations he continued to commute two hours to work. Life since then has changed dramatically for my dad and family. This is why I am humbly asking for donations to help him live more comfortably. My dad has saved my life ten times over and now it is my turn to try to save his. I attribute much of my long term sobriety to him and his endless love and support. If anyone reading this personally knows my father, they know he is not someone who asks for help easily. This is because he has always been “the caretaker”. He is a loving family man and has been a go-getter from a young age and was determined to the best father and provider he could be. My dads greatest joy besides his former work has been his 3 (soon to be four) grandchildren. They are ages six, three and twenty-one months old. However his rapidly declining mobility has left him unable to play with him or even hold them. My Dad has been with me for the birth of all my kids and knowing he cannot be there with me for the birth of his new grandson in a few weeks is deeply saddening and heartbreaking for us both. Not knowing what his diagnosis is is the worst part. As we try to navigate this rocky road ahead of us, any donation is deeply appreciated and means so much to my family. I can’t let myself believe that this is all that’s left of my dads life. There are many more memories to be made, please help us make them. The funds will go directly to my parents (lawrence and diane tesser). The donations will help with the purchase of the necessary medical equipment to make my dads life more comfortable such as a motorized scooter, a motorized wheelchair, and an electric power lift recliner. His next procedure is a spinal tap and I will keep everybody updated on the results and any progress made along the way.
