Support Paddi in Kicking Cancer's Ass #teampaddi

It had been a couple days since several loved ones had received a text or phone call from Paddi Thornton, which is unusual, so a few family members stopped by her house to check on her. And thank God they did, as Paddi was found at home confused and disoriented. She was immediately taken to the emergency room for evaluation and tests. That’s when a tumor was found in her brain.
Things moved rather quickly from there, as she was transferred to Memorial Hermann neuroscience ICU. Shortly after she arrived, doctors realized the tumor was causing deadly swelling in her brain, and she was rushed to emergency surgery. Surgeons removed a small portion of the tumor to relieve the pressure. Fast forward a couple days, and Paddi was awake, doing well and sporting a fetching post-op haircut.
Those were the events of the week of April 21, which brings us to today. Paddi has been diagnosed with Primary CNS Lymphoma, although that has not been confirmed yet by pathology results (hopefully forthcoming at her appointment on Wednesday). Because Paddi is uninsured, she has applied for medical assistance through Harris County’s Gold Card program. Once approved, she will begin chemotherapy.
And this is where those of us who know and love Paddi can help out. Because Paddi had been unable to work prior to the cancer diagnosis due to crippling headaches and cognitive difficulties, she fell far behind in rent and bills, in addition to the financial assistance she needs now as she continues to be unable to work. Many people have called, texted and sent items on her Amazon wish list , all of which have been deeply appreciated. Paddi also needs support with financial contributions to pay for medications, months of late rent, utility bills, food, care, expenses relating to her pets … the list goes on and on.
With the outpouring of love and prayers, Paddi continues to be positive about her long journey ahead, and vows to kick cancer’s ass! Let’s do our part in the butt-whuppin’ and help ease Paddi’s financial stress. All donations will be deposited directly into Paddi's bank account.
