Update 2024!
We want to thank everyone who helped us raise nearly $32,000 last year through this gofund me last year. Your generosity helped us get Travis to
H4C and pursue holistic therapy for more than a year!
I wanted to give an update on where we are in Travis’ journey! He is all done with radiation and has finished 10 rounds of chemo. He had repeat images done now that chemo is finished and they are seeing a significant decrease in the size of the mass, Praise God!!
However, some cancer still remains and they believe the mass is possibly still “tethered” to some nearby organs. As well as significant scarred tissue. Considering all of this, the surgeon here has suggested a pretty radical surgery - removing nearly all of his organs in his pelvis.
Our hope is that, if surgery is unavoidable, we would be able find a surgeon willing and able to be more conservative. So we are seeking a 2nd opinion at MD Anderson as they have more advanced technology and after our local surgeon spoke with MD Anderson, he now feels Travis would be better suited in Houston. Our initial consult will be on August 27th.
We are asking for prayer that we are lined up with exactly who we need to be lined up with, and for wisdom for every Dr. and surgeon who will advise on his case, and for strength for Travis to make the journey…. But our #1 prayer is still that at the end of this Travis will not only be healed, but he will be whole. We know God is more than able
His visit, any testing, and any treatment or surgery will be out of network for our insurance. If you’d like to support us financially, you can donate here!
2023:
Hi, my name is Lauren Collinson. My husband Travis was diagnosed with stage IIIb colon cancer in November of 2020. After multiple surgeries and procedures, by the Grace of God, he was completely restored to health. He was cancer free for almost 2 years, but in August of 2022, he started experiencing some discomfort in his body that lingered for several months. After many tests and opinions, a mass was discovered in his rectum in October of 2022. T4, N1, M0 Stage IIIb Adenocarcinoma. He was under heavy observation for nearly 2 years and had a “perfect” colonoscopy in April of 2022. In 6 short months, he developed an obstructing rectal mass. His Dr. said this was unheard of. He is only 34 years old.
As surgery is not an option in the position that he’s in, we have decided to pursue holistic and alternative therapies to maintain the utmost quality of life. We have done everything we’ve had access to locally, but with holistic therapies not being covered by insurance, our options have been limited. We feel he has done well thus far, but over the last few weeks, he has had an increase in pain and fatigue - it’s been almost completely debilitating. We feel that it’s time to make a drastic jump in our methods of treatment.
We have found, through a local holistic Nurse-Practioner, a holistic treatment center in Mexico specifically for cancer patients, at different stages and prognoses. They offer 7 types of therapies and run a jam-packed schedule to load the body up with these cancer-fighting treatments - helping his body to fight off the cancer naturally. Not only will he be receiving 3 weeks of treatments while we’re there, but we’ll be sent home with 3 therapies to continue once we return home. For the home program, 1 treatment will continue for a year, and the other 2 treatments will continue for 3 months. The starting cost is $47,400 for a 3 week stay, treatments for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week and the home program. The cost does include a place to stay and meals for both of us. Airfare is not included.
We will have the opportunity to return to Mexico after 3 months, and again after 6 months for checkups, but airfare and accommodations will not be included for these subsequent visits. Supplements recommended by the clinic dietician for once we return home will also not be included and can range anywhere from $300-$1,000/month.
We have 2 children - Zander (9) and Lennix (6). We are student pastors, and Travis is a fulltime minister at our church. We are looking forward to him getting back to doing the things he loves, being active with our kids and preaching the Gospel.
We don’t take this lightly and would never ask for this if we didn’t feel compelled to get him to Mexico. We ask you to pray about supporting us in our efforts to get him back on the road to a healthy life. More than anything, we covet your prayers - we know that in an instant God could touch his body and him be completely healed!
