Jan's Fight to Walk Again
Donation protected
First let us extend our thanks to everyone for all of the love and support that has been shown to our family during this difficult time. Now more than ever we need you all.
Jan Adams is our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She has a biting sense of humor, contagious laugh, and an appreciation for the world around her. She'd do anything to help us out, and now it's our turn to help her.
On January 5th, 2017, our dear friend and family member, Jan, suffered an ischemic stroke. At approximately 4am, she was helicoptered to the Mayo Clinic in North Phoenix, where she would receive the best possible care for her condition. After receiving CAT scans, we were fortunate to discover there was no cranial hemorrhaging. She was still within the allotted time frame to receive tPa, a medicine that works quickly to dissolve any clots and restore blood flow in the brain. The MRI on January 6th, just 24 hours later, revealed that the clot had been completely dissolved.
In the words of Jan's daughter, Britni, "Had she not received the medicine in time, we wouldn't have the fighting chance at recovery that we have today. We remain hopeful, as Mom is a very strong and determined woman! But understandably, she will need an immense amount of love and encouragement to help her gain momentum."
Jan is now stable and improving daily at Health South rehabilitation facility, receiving extensive physical, speech, and occupational therapy in the hopes she will regain full use of her right side once again.
To make matters even more challenging, as of January 1, 2017, Jan had a lapse in insurance coverage. The care that Jan needs to recover is expensive and we need your support.
Please consider making a donation to help Jan offset the cost of medical bills, physical therapy, and other necessary treatment costs.
Thank you again for your kind words, prayers, and gestures of love. We couldn't get through this without your support.
